07 Feb Natasha Royer Coons Named to IoT Panel at Channel Partners
TeraNova Managing Director Natasha Royer Coons has been tapped to speak at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas on April 10. Ms. Coons will share her insights as a panelist in the session, “Capitalizing on IoT: A Marriage of Technology & Business Objectives.”
The Internet of Things (IoT) represents the growing network of physical objects that feature an IP address for Internet connectivity, and the communication that occurs between these objects and other Internet-enabled devices and systems. IoT extends Internet connectivity beyond devices like computers, smartphones and tablets to a range of devices and everyday things that utilize embedded technology to communicate and interact with the external environment – all via the Internet. The IoT ecosystem includes things like connected security systems, appliances, smart watches, cars, vending machines, kiosks and digital signage, among many others.
McKinsey estimates that the total IoT market size in 2015 was approximately $900 million, and expects it to grow to $3.7 billion by 2020. Business Insider projects that nearly $6 trillion will be spent on IoT solutions over the next five years. Indeed, IoT is expected to usher in a new era of automation and enhanced operational and financial outcomes for businesses. But many technology distributors who “touch” pieces of the IoT ecosystem aren’t yet sure how to enter the marketplace and monetize the opportunity.
“It’s complex and can be intimidating when you’re first getting started,” explains Ms. Coons. “But chances are good that most technology distributors and other channel partners are serving companies in verticals and niches that are starting to adopt IoT solutions. If they have a network of experienced IoT vendors, consultants and partners, they can leverage those relationships to help clients source and implement solutions.”
Ms. Coons and her fellow panelists will discuss IoT trends and emerging opportunities during the session at Channel Partners on Monday, April 10. The session beings at 2:50 p.m.
